I painted these 4 little gems while I was in Paris!

Before heading to France and Germany, I prepped a few panels and papers, just in case inspiration struck while traveling. On one panel, I taped off four tiny boxes, each only 3"x4.5"...perfect for quick paint sketched. One pair captures the view from our window, overlooking the Seine River with views of Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Saint Genevieve, and the Pantheon. The other pair are of Notre Dame, including an interior view of the stunning stained glass.

After returning home, I visualized how I wanted to frame these little pieces and went about building the framing setup to my vision. These mini sketches are always some of my personal favorites. Their small scale pushes me to simplify and really focus on capturing the feeling of the moment. Just as I have them currently hanging in my studio, I can only imagine these displayed as a set which is how they are priced here.
